Rules of Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em is probably the biggest version of poker around at the moment. It is all over TV and on the internet you can enter real tournaments for real money. More and more people get into it especially on TV so if you want to understand the game then let us help you out.

The game of Texas Hold'em is a game that is very simple to get competent at play but it is very difficult to master. It plays much like regular poker (5 card draw) except instead of being dealt 5 into the hand you are dealt two. In five card draw you get five cards dealt into the hand and you may discard up to three to make the best hand. In Texas Hold'em you are dealt two.

First off before cards are even dealt in Hold'em you have to pay blinds. Blinds are small bets to get things moving. They are to ensure that money does go down regardless of how the round goes. After you receive your two cards a three card flop is dealt into the centre of the table. The idea of this is to make the best hands possible with the two cards you hold and the three on the table. The person to the left of the big blind bets or calls. This continues clockwise around the table until all bets are complete.

Then a fourth card joins the three on the table, another round of betting occurs, then a fifth and betting again. If you can make the best five card hand using your two and any three of the five on the table you win.
