Poker Night 2 Review

Poker Night 2 from Telltale Games is the second installment following Poker Night at the Inventory in the poker video game franchise. The original Poker Night was a big success and the big question in fans minds was whether Poker Night 2 would freshen things up enough to be a success in its own right or just rehash Poker Night 1.

Good Variety of Gameplay

Poker Night 2 is available on the Playstation Network, Steam and XBox Live Arcade with an iOS version due for release later in 2013. Like in Poker Night 1, all the games take place at the Inventory club where once again the witty and spiky conversations are more memorable than the poker itself.

A very interesting group of poker players await you at the Invetory this time to pit your wits against and by playing them regularly you will be able to learn their tells and know exactly when to fold and avoid losing all your chips. The characters may seem familiar to you and they should! The include Brock Samson from The Venture Bros., Ash, of Evil Dead fame and Claptrap from the Borderlands video game. As they swap hilarious stories, you must try your best to focus on your hand, adding to the challenge of beating these guys.

There are two game modes for you to test your poker prowess: Texas Hold Em and Omaha. Fun is to be had either way whether you are playing this game as a straight up poker simulator or playing the room in terms of what the characters demeanor indicates about the strength of their hand. If you ever struggle then you can even buy a round to loosen up their play.

Good Fun for All

Poker Night 2 follows the groundwork done in Poker Night 1 and with a whole new batch of characters, fans of the first game are sure to enjoy this one just as much if not more. The humour on offer is at times priceless and there is no better way to play poker that doesn't involve money.
