Do you want to know how to play Texas hold'em poker?
So you're wondering how to play Texas Hodem Poker? You have come to the right place! The game couldn't be any simpler, although it might not always go your way!
Every player starts with a starting stack, for example 5,000 chips. There is a dealer button meaning that person is the dealer of the game. The two people to the left of the dealer place a small and big blind. For example, 10 chips and 20 chips. These blinds are raised in sequence after levels that vary depending on the game.
Each player is dealt their own 2 personal cards that they must keep to themselves. Betting commences with the person next to the big blind and so forth. 3 community cards known as the flop are dealt. More betting commences. A 4th community card called the turn is dealt face up. More betting happens. Finally the river card is dealt up and the final round of betting happens.
The winner is the person with either the best hand or if they manage to raise their chips so everybody else folds. In this case, they do not need to show their own 2 cards.
In poker, the best possible hand is a royal flush which is 10, jack, queen, king and ace all of the same suit. The worst possible hand is a high card. This means you did not hit a hand when the community cards were dealt up.
It isn't uncommon for people to go all-in and it certainly isn't common to have the best hand pre-flop and still lose! To find out more about the game, take a look at texasholdem-poker.com.
